LiWi-CHUG

“Water is life's matter and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water.”—Albert Szent-Gyorgyi

LiWi places such emphasis on the benefits of water hydration that we don't just casually drink water, we “chug” it with fervor and appreciation for all its benefits. That's why we developed the LiWi-Chug, so you too can make drinking water an exciting part of your health and wellness lifestyle.

LiWi Intentions:
Created and imported from Italy in an array of vibrant, vivid colors, our LiWi-Chugs are delivered to you with a special message of intention—an inspiring word etched within the glass that will uplift you and grace your spirit from the inside out.

Based on water harboring emotion, a claim made by Japanese author and entrepreneur Masaru Emoto, much time, consideration and imagination went into designing each intention. You will find that drinking water from beautifully crafted and colorful glass will make your heart sing. Just glancing at intentions such as, passion, clarity, abundance or gratitude is sure to lift your spirits and make you smile.

Create Designer Water with Essential Oils:
Designer waters are all the rage, and you can easily create your own. For a truly designer water experience add purified water to your Chug and refrigerate. When ready, place one to two drops of your favorite therapeutic-grade essential oil into the Chug. You can drink it immediately, or save it for later. The oils will never sour the water. In fact, with time, the oils just taste better.

Each oil has a distinct and wonderful flavor all it's own. As you drink the essential oil infused water, you will notice your taste buds come alive. The oils seem to turn on the thirst mechanism, and you'll find yourself craving more. Just make sure the oils you use are therapeutic-grade. You must never ingest essential oils that are not therapeutic-grade. Many oils you find in health food stores are meant only for aromatherapy, not ingestion. Therapeutic-grade oils can be ingested, promoting health and wellness.

Also, be advised that therapeutic-grade essential oils are so powerful and potent, placing only a few drops inside a plastic bottle or container will leech the bottles harmful chemicals into the water. This can be dangerous long-term, and should be avoided. This is one of the reasons why our LiWi-Chugs are made from the finest glass.

Another reason—to help eliminate plastic waste. According to some experts, Americans spend an estimated $9.8 billion on bottled water each year, creating four billion pounds of trash and clogging landfills.

Why Water is so Important:
Water is all around us. It's in the air we breathe. It's in the food we eat. Whether in the form of ice, liquid, vapor or steam, it is absolutely essential and vital to all forms of life. Covering 70 percent of the Earth's surface, we could not survive without water—more specifically, clean drinking water.

Not only does water quench your thirst, it also energizes you, detoxifies your body, carries oxygen to your cells, helps metabolize food and aids in the digestion/elimination process. We depend on water, it comprises 75 percent of the human body.

How Much Water to Drink:
Since water is so important, you might wonder if you're drinking enough. Most people walk around in a state of dehydration and don't even realize it, especially when the weather heats up.

Symptoms of dehydration include dry mouth, fatigue, weakness, headaches and nausea. Many experts believe, if you feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated. Therefore, you should be drinking water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.

The general recommendation to stay properly hydrated is to consume 8 to 10 glasses of water each day. As a general guideline, most adults need approx. three quarts of fluid each day. Much of that water comes from food, so 8 to 10 eight-ounce glasses a day is a common recommended intake.

You may need more water if you are exercising, taking certain medications or if the weather is warm and dry. LiWi recommends a specific and individually-tailored plan, which depends on your body weight. It's a simple equation many health experts use to determine just how much water a body needs.

LiWi Water Equation:
The plan is simple. Drink half your body weight in ounces. All you have to do is divide your weight in half, and you'll know your water number in ounces for the rest of your life. For instance, an 140 pound woman should drink 70 ounces of water per day. (140 divided by 2 = 70)

As you lose weight, your water number will change, so make sure you're keeping track. Remember, drinking clean water will not only flush toxins from the body, but will keep you feeling vibrant and energized all day. The LiWi-Chug holds 33 oz., so if your goal is to drink 75 oz., that’s just 2 1/2 bottles throughout the day.

Chug Responsibly:
Can you drink too much water? Yes. You can drink too much water at one time, faster than your body can process. This is called water intoxication, or water poisoning—drinking an enormous volume of water at one time. Although rare, it is a fatal disturbance that occurs when the balance of electrolytes in the body exceeds safe limits. This is not recommended.

-Don 't drink more than one percent of your body weight in ounces at one time.
-Never have a water chugging contest.
-Never chug water when lying down.
-Never force anyone else to chug water.

“We forget that the water cycle and the life cycle are one.”—Jacques Cousteau

Never ingest essential oils that are not therapeutic grade or ingest high volumes of water at one time, which can lead to serious injury or death. Consult your physician before attempting a new eating or exercise plan.
